How the Citizenship Test Works in Frankfurt
The citizenship test is a written exam in a multiple-choice format.
You will answer 33 questions about politics, history, everyday life, and living in Germany.
Three of these questions relate to the federal state (Bundesland) where your primary residence is registered – which means Hesse (Hessen) for Frankfurt am Main.
For each question on the citizenship test, you will see four possible answers.
To pass the test, you must correctly check at least 17 questions.
You have a total of 60 minutes to complete the test.
To participate, you must be at least 16 years old.
It is also important that you bring a valid photo ID, such as your passport or residence permit.
The fee for the citizenship test is 25 euros.
Before the exam, you simply register at an approved testing center – such as with us at Lernstudio H&G Frankfurt.

Well-Prepared for the Citizenship Test
There are several good ways to prepare for the citizenship test in Frankfurt.
One of them is the online test center of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF). There you will find the official questionnaire as well as many free practice tasks. This way, you can get to know the most important topics and get a good feel for how the test is structured.
Much of the content covered in the citizenship test is also discussed in the orientation course of an integration course. You can also attend such a course with us at Lernstudio H&G.
Anyone who has completed this course already brings solid basic knowledge for the test.
Important:
If you have successfully completed the orientation course and achieved at least 17 points in the "Life in Germany" (Leben in Deutschland) test, this result is generally recognized in the naturalization process. In this case, you do not need to take the citizenship test additionally.
